"When You Wish Upon A Star..."

An old picture I took at Magic Kingdom

When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are. Anything your heart desires will come to you.

The writers of that Disney song may have been onto something. Faith mixed with a little bit of passion will help you to achieve the outcome of your desire. With me, God answered my prayer to be able to travel and pray, but in order for me to get paid, I had to know what tools were accessible to me. I took time to invest in my "travelpreneurship" and I attended a training, my very first major training event, in Orlando. Bruh!!!! I had no idea what to expect.

At training, I laughed, I cried, I yelled, I danced, and I found the strength to believe in myself and my capabilities. One thing that really stood out to me was an impromptu speech from Johnny Wimbrey. He told hundreds of my new-found business partners to "Swing the bat. So what if you miss...just swing the bat." Although he may have been motivating us to grow our businesses, this nugget is very relevant to all aspects of life. Don't give up when the going gets tough. So what if you make a mistake....so what if things don't go right. Keep persevering! You will learn along the way. Remain consistent and you'll see results.

That tidbit of information stood with me. Sometimes when I feel like reverting back to my comfort zone, I remind myself to just swing the bat. Why wouldn't I want to swing the bat?

While my friends and family were enduring snow showers, I was eating lunch poolside and having cocktails with people I had met from South Carolina and New York. Somehow, in that moment, relating to strangers became normal. When my friends in Maryland were preparing for work the next day, I spent my Sunday night at Epcot for a private party that shut down the park. I watched a band perform "Shut Up and Dance With Me" and all I wanted was for my friends and family to experience this excitement with me. Somehow life became brand new and those moments were the new definition of living. Watching fireworks with friends, dancing in the middle of the park, grabbing food samples as we toured the different countries, and sharing laughter and memories with thousands of people with positive vibes....that's living on purpose. Whomever said, "anything your heart desires will come to you," never lied.
