Live. Love. Laugh

Have you ever been driving down the highway and you suddenly realize that this is life? And then you wonder how you've been driving for 45 minutes being so completely zoned out; yet, you are focused enough to safely operate a vehicle without crashing? It's like you're on autopilot. Don't act like I'm the only one who has been sitting in the car and realized that I'm alive. Sometimes we get so caught up in our everyday lives that we forget to actually live our lives everyday.

Don't get me wrong! Routines are good for organizing your life, but don't get so caught up in your routine that you forget to enjoy the life that you are living. When is the last time that you stopped and observed your surroundings? When is the last time that you noticed the songs that the birds sing? Better yet, when is the last time that you had time to listen to the birds chirp? At one point in my life I found myself missing out on life's beautiful treasures, until one day I made a conscious effort to be present in the moment. When I started tuning into myself and my own happiness, I started experiencing the world around me. The sun never shined so bright and the trees never danced so gracefully before.

I was listening to a motivational speaker and he suggested to wake up one hour earlier (for morning people) or stay up one hour later (for night owls) to be one with your thoughts. Well, I took him up on the suggestion. I've been waking up an hour before the sun just to pray, write, read, exercise, and pour into me so that I can pour into the world. Seriously! it makes so much of a difference. I won't lie; it was a struggle waking up the first day, but now I find myself dancing while driving down the same streets that once saw more of my tears. I can look back and laugh now. *beats chest and tells Jesus that He's the man.*

Speaking of laughter, when is the last time you spent time just laughing? Laughing at yourself or with others? Sometimes you have to laugh even if it means laughing at yourself. It's one of those essential things for the soul, prescribed for daily use. When you're truly living your life and not just going through the motions, you will find that laughter and love flow freely.

It's no coincidence that I'm writing this and I look down to see a kitchen mat that says, "Happiness is Homemade." Eureka! Happiness is indeed homemade. In fact, it comes from your own personal recipe, everything that you have within you. Therefore, you are responsible for your own happiness. Unleash your magic and start being present in each moment.

Ask yourself this question....what am I doing to actually live my life and enjoy it? Please, whatever you do, do not make the excuse that you don't have the time. Must I remind you that Beyonce has the same 24 hours as you. Now disperse and go be crazy in love with your life!
