Pack Light

Life is about taking journeys. You have to go places, you have to see, feel, touch, and experience things, but one thing you must know is.....everybody and everything can't go with you!

Everybody

I'm sure you hear and see this all the time, but when God is looking to elevate you, you can't take everyone with you. Not everyone is meant to travel on a life journey with you. It's just like going on vacation. Have you ever planned a trip with all of your good friends? In the beginning there's about 20 of you. By the time the trip comes around, it becomes a solo trip. That's the same way that life works. You may plan to have 20 people go on the journey with you, but God has plans for each of us that affects our attendance. Some people may not attend due to finances, some may choose not to go because of other people on the trip, or some may have never had any intentions on going. Personally, I get very disappointed when I make arrangements around other people. However, God has a way of making it possible so that those who are meant to be present are on the journey with you. Forget the fact that your family or best friends couldn't make it. Everyone that you need for this portion of your journey will be present.

Everything

What are you packing in your suitcase? Here's where things get tricky! A lot of us like to over pack so that we can prepare for any occasion. Blink twice if you are that person that has to unpack a bunch of unworn outfits at the end of a trip. ::Blink Blink:: I'm guilty. When we are packing, we have to be intentional or else we will end up packing more than we really need. This is a similar habit that a lot of us have in life. We like to carry around a lot of unnecessary items and baggage. Let go of insecurities, self-doubts, and other people's opinions of you. It is important to be conscious of the way your present yourself; however, you can't control other people's perspectives. Their perspectives are limited to their own experiences. You may not ever come across the way you intend because of someone else's limited vision. Don't carry that with you! Let that be their problem. Stop carrying heavy baggage that weighs you down.

As you embark on your journey, remember you can't control other people or the turbulence being thrown at you, but you can control how you react. Stay positive, be present, and enjoy the trip. Cheers to packing light and not concerning yourself with baggage and things that weigh you down.
